Michael Benisch is a seasoned executive in the field of artificial intelligence and engineering, currently serving as the Vice President of Artificial Intelligence at Motive since November 2025. Prior to this role, Benisch was the Executive Director of Embodied AI at General Motors from April 2024 to October 2025. A significant part of Michael's career includes leadership positions at Woven by Toyota, where Benisch held the roles of VP of Engineering and Senior Director of Engineering for Advanced AD/ADAS and Level 5, respectively. Additional experience includes serving as Senior Director and Director of Autonomy in Lyft’s Level 5 self-driving division, and as VP of Engineering, AI/ML and Applications at Rocket Fuel Inc. where Benisch led a skilled team in advancing AI capabilities. Michael co-founded Hg Analytics, a quantitative hedge fund, and holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University, along with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Brown University.
