Sr. Manager Network Architecture and Engineering at GoNetspeed

Karl Clapp has a diverse work experience in the field of network architecture and engineering. Karl is currently working at GoNetspeed as the Senior Manager of Network Architecture and Engineering, where they started in May 2023. Previously, they held the position of Senior Network Architect at GoNetspeed from November 2020 to May 2023.

Before joining GoNetspeed, Karl worked at Consolidated Communications from February 2015 to November 2020, where they were a Senior Network Architect. In this role, they collaborated with vendor engineering and development teams, conducted interoperational testing, and supported sales engineering teams in client discussions. Karl also designed and managed critical network infrastructures for Consolidated Communications products and services.

Prior to that, Karl gained extensive experience at GWI, where they held various roles from August 2000 to February 2015. Karl worked their way up from Customer Support Specialist to Network Engineering Manager, with roles including Senior Network Engineer and Level 1 Network Engineer. Karl'sresponsibilities included troubleshooting network issues, fulfilling customer orders, training on relay rack installation and power systems, evaluating DSLAM vendors, expanding GWI's collocation facilities, and performing hardware/software network upgrades.

In addition, Karl has experience as an Assistant Ice Hockey Coach at Biddeford High School from October 2007 to November 2013, and as an Assistant Manager - Training at Wal-Mart from September 1997 to August 2000.

Karl Clapp has a diverse education history. From 1997 to 2004, they attended the University of Southern Maine, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology and Information Systems. In 2008 and 2009, they took a Coaching Eligibility Course at the University of Maine's Maine Center for Sport and Coaching. Later, in 2010 and 2011, they pursued a Certificate in Project Management at York County Community College. Additionally, Karl Clapp has several certifications. In 2006, they obtained the Metropolis DMX Operations and Maintenance certification from Lucent Technologies. In 2010, they became an Acme Packet Certified Network Engineer (ACP-N). More recently, in 2019, they received the USA Hockey Level-4 Coach certification from USA Hockey, and in 2020, they became a CBRS Certified Professional Installer through Google.
