James Butler 👋🏻

James Butler began their work experience in 2003 as a self-employed designer, strategist, and founder, working with small clients and gaining valuable skills. In 2009, they joined Sainsbury's as a management trainee, where they developed expertise in data analysis, stock management, and strategic planning. James then moved on to the Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, initially as a designer and later as the Head of Design & Product, overseeing the development of websites and digital products for educational institutions. James worked with various agencies from 2013 to 2015, collaborating with clients such as ASOS.com and Barclays to deliver digital strategies and product designs. James then joined Booking.com, serving as a Product Designer and later as a Product & Design Lead, where they led the development of the Booking Assistant and Enterprise messaging tools. Most recently, James worked at Shopify as a Design Manager, contributing to the growth and success of the Shop app. In 2023, they co-founded Voyago.

James Butler attended the University of Lincoln from 2005 to 2008, where they earned a BA (Hons) degree in Media Production (Design & Digital). In 2021, they enrolled in OnDeck and completed the On Deck Designers 1 program, focusing on Design Leadership.
