Gretchen T. Wright serves as the General Manager for Goodspeed Musicals since September 2023, bringing extensive experience in theater management and development. Previous roles include Interim Managing Director and Director of Development at Westport Country Playhouse, Development Manager at Alliance Theatre, and Associate Managing Director at Yale Repertory Theatre. Notable contributions include orchestrating a strategic planning process for the Alliance Theatre under Artistic Director Susan V. Booth and managing the 40th Anniversary Season of Yale Summer Cabaret. Wright holds an MBA from Yale School of Management, an MFA in Theater Management from Yale School of Drama, and a BA in English and Theatre from Duke University.

Goodspeed mounts both new and newly revived musicals each year on our main stage at the Opera House and on our second stage in Chester – a total of more than 400 performances during the April to December season attracting 130,000 patrons to the Connecticut River Valley. We stand at the forefront of producing and preserving the American musical, simultaneously reinventing the classics and inventing new ones.
