Alex Chen

Alex Chen has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Alex started their career as a Software Engineer at Elance-oDesk in 2007 before moving on to Mercantila as a Software Engineer. Alex then joined One Kings Lane as a Principal Software Engineer and later transitioned to the role of Software Development Manager, overseeing platform and data science. In 2013, Alex became a Senior/Lead Engineer at Wanelo, a social commerce platform. Alex then joined Stitch Fix as a Data Science Engineer, working on the data platform team. Alex also worked at AC as an Independent Consultant before joining ipsy as an Engineering Manager and later as a Senior Manager of Engineering. At Facebook, they served as a Senior Software Engineer and Technical Lead in Machine Learning Engineering. Currently, Alex is at Goodwater, where they have held roles such as Staff Engineer, Engineering Manager, and is currently the Director of Engineering.

Alex Chen has a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley. They also have pursued a PhD in Computational Biology and bioinformatics at the University of California, Davis, but it is incomplete.
