Carl Johnson

Director Of District Operations at Texas Department of Transportation

Carl Johnson has over 30 years of work experience in the transportation industry. Carl started their career at Austin Bridge & Road as a Field Engineer, Surveyor, and Project Manager from 1990 to 1994. Carl then moved on to Prater Equipment Company as a Field Engineer in 1994 before joining the Texas Department of Transportation in 1995. At TxDOT, Carl held various roles, starting as an EIT-Trans Engineer and eventually becoming the Director of District Operations in 2022. Their expertise lies in district operations and engineering management.

Carl Johnson attended Texas Tech University from 1985 to 1989, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering Technologies.
