Chip Clupper

Chip Clupper is the current Chair at Goodwill Industries of Akron. Chip has extensive experience in Human Resources and Accounting, having worked in both fields for over 15 years. Chip started their career as an accountant with the County of Summit Department of Environmental Services, where they were responsible for accounts payable, budget management, asset and warranty management, and monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reporting. Chip also provided employees with training on mandated topics including substance abuse, diversity, and harassment.

In 2006, they transitioned to the County of Summit's Human Resources Department, where they served as Deputy Director of Human Resources, HR Senior Administrator, and Human Resources Analyst. In this role, they supervised front-line HR staff in various functions including recruitment, classification/compensation, HRIS management, position management, performance management, and employee relations/labor relations. Chip also served as the HRIS administrator for the county-wide system and was responsible for the administration of the county-wide classification/compensation plan. Additionally, they assisted in labor relations functions including discipline, grievances, arbitration's, negotiations, and other contract-related matters for 12 contract bargaining agreements.

In 2010, they left the County of Summit to take on a new challenge as Parts/Purchasing Assistant with Newell Rubbermaid. In this role, they were responsible for processing and preparing monthly sanitary sewer bills for residential, commercial, municipal, and special accounts. Chip also managed and developed a public relations campaign for a senior citizen discount program.

Chip is a dedicated and hard-working individual with a commitment to excellence. Chip is a strong team player who is able to build positive relationships with co-workers and customers alike. Chip is an effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.

Chip Clupper attended Walsh University, where they received a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Business Administration and Management, General in 2014. Chip also attended Walsh University for their Education in Business Management from 2009-2011, with a duel concentration in Human Resources and Organizational Leadership. In addition, they is a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).
