Laura Tapscott, LCSW, currently works at East Atlanta Counseling Services as an EMDR and RO-DBT-informed therapist and serves as a residential therapist at Hillside, Inc., where clinical focus includes individual and family therapy for children and adolescents. Tapscott has extensive experience providing therapy and trauma screenings for at-risk youth through work at COMMUNITY TEEN COALITION INC and has held roles as a bilingual trauma therapist and intern at La Frontera Arizona - Empact SPC, catering to diverse clients experiencing trauma. Additional professional experience includes advocacy and resource coordination for victims of domestic violence at the City of Mesa Municipal Court, employment support for refugees, and academic roles assisting with research. Tapscott holds a Master's in Social Work from Arizona State University, a Master’s in International Studies from the University of Oregon, and a Bachelor’s in Comparative Literature and Romance Languages from the University of Georgia.

Founded in 1888, Hillside is one of Atlanta's oldest non-profit organizations, providing treatment services for children ages 7-21 with severe emotional, psychological, and behavioral challenges.
