Peter Starrett

Peter Starrett has been affiliated with Freeman Spogli, a prominent Los Angeles-based private equity firm, since 1998. His role there is to oversee current portfolio companies and to evaluate new investment opportunities. In this capacity, he has served on sixteen portfolio company Boards since joining the firm, including a number of publicly traded companies.

Mr. Starrett currently serves on six corporate Boards, including public companies Floor & Decor, Inc., and Boot Barn, Inc., where he serves as Chairman of the Board. In addition, he is a long term member and former Chairman of Goodwill Southern California’s Board, and is currently the Chairman of the Finance Committee and Treasurer. He also serves on the Boards of the UCLA Health System and the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. Prior to joining Freeman Spogli, Mr. Starrett spent twenty five years in the retail industry and served as CEO of three different retailers. His position immediately prior to joining Freeman Spogli was at Warner Bros., where he founded Warner Bros. Studio Stores and served as Warner Bros. Worldwide President of Retail for eight years. He is also a past Director of The National Retail Federation.

Mr. Starrett is a graduate of Harvard Business School and The University of Denver.
