John Leopold

VP, Enterprise Support at Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia

As vice president of enterprise support, Leopold oversees all technology design, development and strategy across Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia, and ensures compliance, safety and protection of Goodwill’s offices, retail stores, attended donation centers and regional support centers. Additionally, he oversees the marketing & communications functions for the organization.

John served as director of Goodwill’s 10-person IT department for 10 years, and was promoted to his current role in 2017. He joined Goodwill in 2007 as a point of sale administrator for the organization’s retail social enterprise.

Prior to joining Goodwill, Leopold had more than a decade of IT experience with companies including Block Trading, Idea Integration (Dallas) and James River Corporation.

Leopold holds a degree in chemical engineering from Louisiana State University. As someone well-regarded for his thought leadership, Leopold was quoted in “Byte Magazine” when Microsoft launched Windows 95, giving his opinion about what the software would mean to organizations. He enjoys playing golf, reading, wine tasting, and baking. He lives in Henrico with his wife and three dogs.
