Anita Davis

Anita Davis is the Chief Mission Officer at Goodwill of Western Missouri & Eastern Kansas. Anita has dedicated their career to workforce development and has a proven track record of success in managing large budgets and operations.

Anita began their career as a Community Development Administrator for the City of Independence. In this role, they were responsible for developing and implementing community development programs. Anita then founded their own consulting firm, Verify Effect, where they provided consulting services to businesses and organizations on a variety of topics related to workforce development.

In 2010, Anita joined the City and County of Denver as the Assistant Director of the Division of Workforce Development. In this role, they managed a multi-million dollar budget and oversaw the operations of all Denver Workforce Centers, Assessment & Training programs, and Workforce Business Services.

In 2017, Anita left the City and County of Denver to join the Mid-America Regional Council as the Workforce Development Program Director. In this role, they were responsible for managing a multi-million dollar budget and overseeing the operations of all Denver Workforce Centers, Assessment & Training programs, and Workforce Business Services delivered under the Office of Economic Development.

Anita has a passion for helping others reach their full potential and is excited to continue their work at Goodwill of Western Missouri & Eastern Kansas.

Anita Davis has a Ph.D. ABD in Public Affairs from the University of Colorado Denver, a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and is a Certified Community and Economic Developer in Urban Economic Development from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Anita also has a Bachelor's degree in African Studies from The University of Kansas.

Anita Davis reports to Funmi Popoola, President & CEO. Anita Davis works with Katherine Maloney - VP of Workforce Development, Gregg Hibbeler - Director of Marketing & Communications, and Kristen Wood - Director Advocacy & Fund Development.
