Arjan El Fassed

Arjan El Fassed is an experienced professional in humanitarian advocacy, policy advising, and public affairs, with a notable history in various organizations. Between 2002 and 2010, Arjan served as a Senior Policy Advisor and Programme Manager at Oxfam Novib, focusing on humanitarian crises and international lobbying. As Interim Lead of Humanitarian Campaigns at Oxfam International from 2009 to 2010, Arjan managed advocacy efforts related to global conflicts. Following a tenure as a Member of Parliament from 2010 to 2012, Arjan became a Manager and later Senior Manager of Government Affairs & Public Policy at Google from 2018 to 2023 and currently holds a position as a member of the Supervisory Board at BNNVARA. In the non-profit sector, Arjan directed the Open State Foundation, promoting digital transparency and open data. Arjan's academic background includes an MA in Political Science and International Relations from Leiden University and a Certificate from the Internet Leadership Academy at the University of Oxford.
