Campbell Fraser

Campbell Fraser is an experienced software engineer with a robust background in database technologies and query optimization. Currently serving as the Technical Lead for the Spanner Query Optimizer at Google since December 2012, Campbell has previously held positions at Microsoft Corporation, where contributions included leadership roles in the development of SQL Server's relational engine and query optimizer from July 1999 to November 2012. Prior to Microsoft, Campbell worked as a Software Applications Engineer at Motorola Inc. and held engineering roles at Quality Systems and Software Ltd. and Digital Equipment Corporation. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. and a B.Sc. (hons) in Computer Science from the University of Glasgow.
