Ioana Balas

Ioana Balas is an experienced Engineering Manager currently leading the Pixel EngProd team at Google since December 2023. Prior to this role, Ioana served as an Engineering Manager at Twitter, where support was provided to the Engineering Effectiveness department through the global Build and IDE teams. Ioana also held managerial positions at Deliveroo, Hummingbird Technologies Ltd, and Improbable, overseeing various engineering teams and initiatives. Earlier career experiences include roles as Team Lead and Software Engineer at Gamesys, Software Engineer at Caplin Systems and Maersk Oil, and an internship at EBS Romania. Ioana holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Københavns Universitet and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Babes-Bolyai University.
