Mircea Oancea

Mircea Oancea is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience at Google since May 2006, where roles include VP of Engineering for Android, Cross Google Engineering, and the Google Payments Platform, overseeing the development of essential payment systems for various Google services. Mircea has also served as a Distinguished Engineer, leading teams to enhance internal APIs for scalable feature development, and as Principal Engineer, responsible for a new scalable backend for Google Shopping and Product Listing Ads. Early career experience as an Independent Contractor involved diverse software development projects, while an initial role as a Software Engineer included creating an innovative sports pool game kiosk. Mircea Oancea holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest.
