Nikita Lazarev is currently a Visiting PhD Researcher and Software Engineer at Google, beginning in May 2023. Previously, Nikita served as a Visiting PhD Researcher at Microsoft from May 2021 to May 2023, focusing on cloud-native vRAN for 5G with OpenRAN. Prior internship experiences at Microsoft include work on FPGA-based low-latency distributed in-memory caching systems and real-time interactive inference on FPGAs. Before Microsoft, Nikita was an R&D Software Engineer at Samsung Electronics, specializing in system programming and compilers for ARM and Android. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2022-2024), another Doctor of Philosophy in EECS from Cornell University (2019-2022), a Master's degree in Computer Science from EPFL (2016-2018), and an undergraduate degree in Automation and Robotics Engineering from Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
