Stefan Stojanov

Stefan Stojanov currently serves as a Research Scientist at Google since November 2025. Prior to this role, Stojanov worked as an Applied Scientist at Amazon from March 2025 to October 2025 and held a position as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Stanford University from January 2024 to February 2025. Stojanov completed a Doctorate in Computer Science at Georgia Institute of Technology, where engagement as a Graduate Research Assistant occurred from January 2018 to December 2023. Additional experience includes internships with Meta in 2021 and multiple positions at Amazon Lab126 as an Applied Scientist Intern between 2018 and 2019. Stojanov's undergraduate research was conducted at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard and Bard College. Notable contributions include training the original word2vec model for lexical text simplification and developing a retrieval-based pipeline for text simplification processes.
