Tanya Birch

Tanya Birch is a Senior Program Manager at Google, where from 2016 they have led the Nature Conservation efforts within Google Earth Outreach. With a strong background in program and project management, Tanya focuses on applying AI for conservation, driving initiatives like Wildlife Insights and engaging in nature-based storytelling using Google Earth. They have also contributed to significant projects such as the launch of Google Earth Voyager Nature content and Street View Samburu with Save the Elephants. Previously, Tanya worked at the Sri Lanka Wildlife Conservation Society, studying human-elephant conflict, and at Google News, where they helped internationalize the platform. Tanya holds a BA in Geography and Environmental Science from UC Santa Barbara.
