Yomi Matsuoka is an accomplished industrial designer with extensive experience in leading design initiatives at notable technology companies. Since February 2011, Yomi has served as a Staff Industrial Designer at Google, focusing on innovating products for mass markets. Prior experience includes a role as Principal Designer at Palm from October 2005 to February 2011, where Yomi was instrumental in the development of iconic devices such as the Pre, Pixi, Treo Pro, and Centro, as well as the Touchstone cradle. Earlier career achievements include serving as Art Director at Sony Design Center HQ in Tokyo from April 1997 to August 2005, where Yomi contributed to the design evolution of products including the Walkman and various television sets. Yomi holds a Bachelor of Fine Art in Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design, earned between 1987 and 1991.
