Erik Klaassen

Erik Klaassen is a seasoned expert in water management and flood resilience, currently serving as Team Leader and Flood Management Expert at BERIM for the Hoa Binh Climate Change Adaptation Development Project since July 2024. Concurrently, Erik holds the position of Resident Representative and Water Management Expert for the Blue Dragon Program under the Dutch Water Authorities, also starting in August 2024. With extensive experience in various roles, including Coastal Engineer for the KfW funded Integrated Coastal Protection and Mangrove Belt Rehabilitation Project, Erik has contributed as an Independent Project Manager/Consultant on multiple significant projects across Vietnam, focusing on climate adaptation, drainage, and flood risk management. Erik's educational background includes a Master of Science (MSc) in Civil Engineering from Delft University of Technology, obtained from 1994 to 2000.
