David Mottola

David Mottola, PhD, has extensive experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. DAVID currently serves as the Vice President of Clinical Development at Gossamer Bio since August 2020. Prior to this, they worked as the Chief Science Officer at GeneBiology, Inc. from 2015 to 2020, where they played a crucial role in the development of two lead products and led the formulation and clinical development strategy. DAVID also served on the board of directors. Before that, Dr. Mottola worked as the Principal at Calabria Pharma Consulting, a consulting firm specializing in providing product development expertise to biopharma and investment companies. DAVID held this position from 2015 to 2020. Dr. Mottola's early career includes founding ACRIS Pharmaceuticals, a start-up focused on licensing early-stage drug products, where they served as the Co-founder, President, and Chief Operating Officer from 2013 to 2015. Prior to that, they held various leadership positions at United Therapeutics Corporation, including Executive Vice President of Research & Clinical Development for Lung Rx, Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations, and Senior Vice President of Product Development. DAVID also worked at Bausch & Lomb Pharmaceuticals and Burroughs Wellcome Co./Glaxo Wellcome Inc. as a Senior Manager and Principal Clinical Research Scientist, respectively. Dr. Mottola's expertise lies in clinical development, product evaluation, formulation development, and strategic leadership.

David Mottola holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Pharmacology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. DAVID also earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from Binghamton University.
