Katarina Thorstensson is a seasoned professional in sustainability and destination development, currently serving as the Chairperson of the Knowledge Group Sustainability at City Destinations Alliance since January 2020. With extensive experience at Göteborg & Co since March 2011, Katarina has held roles including Sustainability Strategist & Destination Development and Director/Project Manager for The International Science Festival Gothenburg. Katarina's expertise in sustainability is further highlighted through various leadership positions, such as Head of Sustainability for notable events including the 2017 FEI European Championships and the 2016 European Women's Handball Championship. Academic foundations include a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Marketing from the University of Gothenburg and further studies in Strategic Change Management from the Stockholm School of Economics Executive Education. Additionally, Katarina has pursued studies in French at the Université catholique de Lyon.
