Göran Eriksson

Göran Eriksson has extensive work experience in the shipping and logistics industry. Göran started their career as a Captain and Chief Officer at Rederi AB TransAtlantic in 2004. Göran then took on various roles within the company, including Operations Manager, Manager of Commercial Operations, and Fleet Manager & Head of Ship Management. During this time, they oversaw the operations of Transatlantic's liner services in the Baltic Sea and managed a fleet of dry cargo vessels.

In 2012, Göran joined GAC Group as the General Manager of Shipping in Dubai. In this role, they led a business unit providing shipping services to various sectors of the shipping and offshore energy industry. Göran then served as the Managing Director of GAC Abu Dhabi, where they managed a service company in the marine, shipping, energy, logistics, warehousing, and relocation sectors. Later, Göran became the Managing Director of GAC India, responsible for overseeing the company's business activities, including shipping services, logistics services, energy services, and P&I services.

Most recently, Göran Eriksson has taken on the role of Chief Executive Officer at The Port of Gothenburg, starting in August 2023. In this position, they lead the operations and strategic direction of the port, ensuring efficient and smooth operations.

Göran Eriksson has a comprehensive education history in the field of nautical and maritime studies. Göran Eriksson further pursued their education at the same institution and completed a Diploma Programme in Commercial Management and Organization in Nautical Science. During this program, they gained expertise in maritime economics, finance, project management, organization, logistics, and maritime law.

In addition, Göran Eriksson has shown interest in sustainability and climate science, as reflected in their more recent education endeavors. Göran attended a university course on accelerating a sustainability transition at Jönköping University, specifically studying sustainability studies at the Jönköping International Business School. Moreover, at Chalmers University of Technology, Göran Eriksson completed another university course focusing on climate science offered by the Department of Space, Earth, and Environment. This course covered the climate, its science, measures, and policy.
