Behzad Bahtooi

Behzad Bahtooi, P.Eng, serves as the Director of Engineering at BC Public Service within the Ministry of Energy and Climate Solutions, specializing in low carbon fuel initiatives since July 2019. Prior to this role, Behzad held various engineering and management positions, including Chief Engineer and Head of the Industrial Competitiveness Unit at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy, and VP of Engineering at International Composting Corporation, where key projects involved gasification and waste-to-energy technologies. Earlier in the career, Behzad was the CEO and co-founder of Garmagostaran Behineh Saz, leading the company to significant growth and numerous certifications, and has held various roles in equipment and boiler design in the oil and gas sector. Behzad holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tehran and an MBA from Bahar School of Management.
