Ken Cleary is a highly experienced professional in public expenditure and reform, currently serving as Principal Officer at the Department of Public Expenditure & Reform since April 2021. Prior roles include Assistant Principal in the Climate Change Unit from December 2017 to April 2021, and previous positions focused on energy efficiency and regulation at various departments, including the Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment. International experience includes serving as First Secretary at the Embassy of Ireland in Singapore, concentrating on ICT and energy policy for the Asia Pacific region. Ken Cleary holds an MSc in Economic Policy Studies from Trinity College Dublin and a BA in Accounting & Finance from Dublin City University.
