Douglas Melville is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in financial services, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance. As Principal Ombudsman and Chief Executive of the Channel Islands Financial Ombudsman since 2015, Douglas established two independent statutory Ombudsman schemes for Jersey and Guernsey. Additionally, as a Senior Consultant with the World Bank Group, Douglas provides technical expertise in financial consumer dispute resolution and market conduct regulation in emerging markets. Douglas also serves as Commissioner of Appeal for the Jersey Tax Tribunal and previously held leadership roles, including Ombudsman and CEO at the Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments in Canada. Douglas's academic qualifications include a Juris Doctor from Western University, a Master of Laws from York University's Osgoode Hall Law School, and an MBA from Ivey Business School at Western University.
