Geoff Gatien

Geoff Gatien is an experienced finance professional currently serving as the Associate Deputy Minister and Controller for the Government of Nova Scotia since January 2004. In this role, Geoff advises senior government officials on financial implications related to significant transactions and initiatives, participates in negotiations, serves as an employer trustee for the NS Public Service Long-Term Disability Plan Trust Fund, and acts as a financial officer for various provincially controlled entities. Additionally, Geoff contributes to the Public Sector Accounting Board's discussion group and holds a position as the Director of Finance on the Executive of Basketball Nova Scotia. Prior to this, Geoff worked as a Manager at PwC from September 1994 to December 2003. Educational accomplishments include obtaining a CA in Accounting from the Atlantic School of Chartered Accountancy and a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Francis Xavier University.
