Ras Al Khaimah Municipality was established in 1959 by an Emiri decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi. Since the first years of its inception has had to bear a great responsibility in accomplishing many of the tasks on behalf of different authorities in the Emirate such as the lands, ports and traffic departments, in addition to its work to ensure a clean environment free of contaminants and a decent life for members of the community that secure factors of health and safety, and in order to cope with the global developments and progress in the field of municipal work, in the mid-sixties the administrative structure of the Department was renewed, including a range of departments and divisions, in order to carry out the tasks entrusted to it. Based on the Municipal Law of Year 1981 and Resolution No. 5 of 2004 issued by His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi as Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah at the time, the new organizational structure of the Municipality Department was developed in order to keep pace with economic and urban, commercial and environmental developments in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, and later the Department's specialties were reviewed in light of the developments and the emergence of other departments in the Emirate, and the strategy was established to include the vision, mission, values and strategic objectives, and was completed by adopting the new organizational structure. • Vision An initiative pioneering Municipality, performance and learning in the building of a raising Emirate. • Mission Work to provide an environment with a competitive advantage for living, work and stability. • Values - The Human is always First (factor and collaborator) - The Originality (culture and contemporary) - Taking the initiative (approach and commitment) - The Teamwork (planning and execution) - The Excellence of Services (method and result) - Continuous learning (Foundation and individuals)
