Francis Casal has been in the software development industry since 2005, beginning their career with COLSA as a Software Engineer II & III. Francis was later promoted to Software Engineer III & IV, where they led a team of 10 in the development of Windows-based applications using C++ and MFC Windows user interface development tools. Francis also provided system engineering support in analysis of product requirements and managed multiple technical projects.
In 2015, Casal joined the Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific as a Computer Scientist, where they changed focus from management and development of desktop-based applications to web-based back-end development in a distributed development team for UAV Surveillance program.
In 2020, Casal was hired by TARVOS Systems, Inc. as their Chief Engineer. In this role, they were responsible for spearheading and managing a technical team in the initial development of the modernization of a legacy web application designed to deconflict Link16 transmission requirements across concurrently scheduled missions. Francis also implemented an agile development strategy, resulting in an increase of development efficiency and speed.
Currently, Casal is a Lead Software Developer at Gozio.
Francis Casal attended San Diego State University from 1997 to 2002, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
