Dael Williamson

Dael Williamson has worked in a variety of roles in the technology sector since 2004. From 2004-2008, they were a Technology Consultant (Manager & Business Systems Analyst) at Target Group Index. From 2008-2010, they were a Product Architect/Full-Stack Engineer at VoxTelecom, and a Research Consultant/Lecturer at the University of Cape Town from 2008-2010. From 2010-2016, they were the Head of Product Design & Engineering at VOSS, and from 2016-2017, they were an Advisory Board Member: Product, Technology & Data at FitSprint. In 2017, they began a role as Advisory CTO, Product, Technology & Data at GPDQ, and in 2018, they took on the roles of European CTO (Data & AI) | Global Data Technology Lead and European CTO (Data & AI) | Data & AI CoE Lead (Europe) at Avanade. Finally, in 2016, they began a role as Assoc. VP | Global Chief Architect @ DnA Consulting (EMEA & APAC) at HCL Technologies and is currently the EMEA CTO, Field Advisory & Engineering at Databricks.

Dael Williamson has a diverse educational background. Dael obtained a Diploma in Entry Level Programming from Van Zyl and Pritchard in 1996, followed by a BSc in Computer Science from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika in 1997-1999. Dael then went on to earn a BSc in Genetics, Biochemistry from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2002-2004, followed by a BSc (Honours) in Molecular Medicine from the same institution in 2005. In 2006, they completed a Masters internship in Medical Biochemistry from the University of the Witwatersrand, and in 2007-2010 they obtained an MSc in Structural Biology from the University of Cape Town. Currently, they are pursuing an Executive Leadership degree in Organizational Leadership at INSEAD. In addition, they have obtained the Databricks Partner Champion certification from Databricks in June 2020.
