Senior Mapping and Localization Engineer at GPR

Akshay Roy has worked as a Senior Mapping and Localization Engineer at GPR since 2021. Prior to this, they were a Senior Robotics Software Engineer and a Robotics Engineer at Vecna Robotics from 2018 to 2017. In 2017, they were a Robotics Software Intern at Vecna Robotics, where they were one of the core developers of the robot's software that won the DHL Robotics Challenge 2018. Akshay also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2017 and as an Analog Test Engineer at Texas Instruments in 2015. Additionally, they served as Vice President of Robotics and Machine Intelligence in 2015 and as Chairman of Brainspark in 2016.

Akshay Roy attended Amrita Vidyalayam from 2006 to 2012, where they obtained their High School degree. Akshay then went on to National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, where they obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering between 2012 and 2016. Finally, they pursued a Master's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, which they completed in 2018.
