Mary Whisenand

Mary Whisenand has a diverse work experience spanning several years.

Mary currently works as the Senior Director of Campus Protection Programs at GradGuard - College Life Protected. In this role, they collaborate with colleges and universities to address insurance exposures specific to the higher education community. GradGuard's insurance programs aim to attract and retain students while removing obstacles to their education. Mary has been with GradGuard since November 2022.

Before joining GradGuard, they served as a Senior Client Relationship Manager at Association Member Benefits Advisors (AMBA) from April to November 2022.

Prior to that, Mary worked at Mercer H&B Administration as a Principal, focusing on assisting association members and non-association professionals in purchasing insurance products. Mary worked closely with marketing, IT, administration, and sales teams to implement business plans. Mary'stenure at Mercer H&B Administration lasted from January 2014 to November 2022.

Mary's earlier experience includes working as a Vice President at Marsh, where they were part of Marsh US Consumer, a business unit of Mercer H&B Administration. Mary'stime at Marsh spanned from 1993 to December 2013.

Outside of their professional career, Mary volunteered at the Des Moines Playhouse from 1994 to 2010. Mary contributed to various aspects of stage production, house management, and served as a Playhouse Ambassador assisting with tours and events.

Mary Whisenand attended Central College from 1982 to 1986, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre and Communications. Prior to attending college, Mary Whisenand completed their high school education at Ballard High School, earning a High School Diploma. After college, they pursued further education in Political Science and Government at Trinity College Carmarthen in Wales. In terms of additional certifications, Mary Whisenand obtained a Registered Professional Liability Underwriter certification from the Professional Liability Underwriting Society in November 1996. Additionally, they earned an Associate in Underwriting certification from the Insurance Institute of America in January 1996.
