Tony Broer

Tony Broer has a diverse range of work experience. Tony started their career in the military, serving as an officer in transportation services in the Dutch Army. After completing their military service, they worked as an assistant controller at DSM Special Products, where they were involved in various projects and handled insurance claims.

Broer then joined DSM, where they held multiple roles. Tony served as a site and business controller for a 200 million euro business, participating in the development of a new strategy and managing finance and purchasing. Tony later became the controller of corporate treasury, responsible for the mid- and backoffice and playing a key role in implementing SAP Treasury ERP.

At DSM Products & Distribution, Broer served as the director of finance and control for a business unit with three separate units and 250 employees. Tony faced the challenge of restoring lost business volumes and ensuring profitability.

Broer also worked at Biesheuvel Techniek as the CFO, overseeing 28 branches across the Netherlands and playing a part in the group's fast growth through acquisitions. Tony then moved to GS Staalwerken Groep, where they served as the director of integration, overseeing the acquisition, relaunch, and integration of a steel construction company.

Before their current position as CFO of Grafton Netherlands at Grafton Group plc, Broer worked at Isero B.V. as the finance director. In this role, they managed the financial side of the company's growth, which included opening new branches and acquiring suitable companies.

Throughout their career, Broer has gained experience in various financial roles, including lead auditor, finance controller, and project controller. Tony has worked on risk-based audits, improved finance processes, and participated in mergers and acquisitions.

Tony Broer attended Erasmus University Rotterdam from 1986 to 1992, earning a Drs degree in Business Economics. Later, from 1996 to 1998, they enrolled at Maastricht University and obtained a postgraduate Controllers degree (RC) in the field of study.
