Orlando Moreira

Orlando Moreira has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over two decades. Orlando started their career in 2000 at Philips Research, where they worked as a Research Scientist. During their time at Philips Research, Orlando participated in various research projects focused on reconfigurable computing and predictable multiprocessor platforms. Orlando played key roles in system simulation, compilation, multiprocessor timing analysis and scheduling tools design and development, as well as resource management and operating systems.

In 2006, Orlando joined NXP Semiconductors as a Senior Scientist. Orlando took on the role of Work Package Leader for Software Architecture in a joint project with Nokia on Software-Defined Radio. Orlando acted as the project leader and lead software architect for a multi-site, multi-company team. The project included a customized microcontroller operating system, the Sea-of-DSPs framework, and a custom resource allocator.

Following their time at NXP Semiconductors, Orlando worked at ST-NXP Wireless as a Senior Scientist and at ST-Ericsson as a Principal DSP Systems Engineer. In these roles, they focused on projects related to radio applications and dual sim dual access systems, respectively. Orlando's responsibilities included leading teams, conducting feasibility studies, and delivering specifications and implementations on time.

In 2015, Orlando joined Intel Corporation as a Compiler Team Lead and later transitioned into the role of Manager of Engineering. At Intel, they were responsible for leading a team and overseeing compiler development projects.

Most recently, Orlando has been working at GrAI Matter Labs, where they hold the position of Senior Principal Engineer and Chief Architect * Fellow. In this role, they utilize their expertise in architecture and engineering to contribute to the development of advanced solutions.

Orlando Moreira obtained a Licentiate degree in Electronics from Universidade de Aveiro between 1994 and 1999. From 2006 to 2012, they pursued a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology.
