Sam Gross

Staff Scientist - Bioinformatics at GRAIL

Sam Gross has a diverse work experience in the fields of bioinformatics, data science, and software engineering. Sam is currently working as a Staff Scientist - Bioinformatics at GRAIL, Inc. since 2020. Prior to this, they held multiple roles at Nuna Inc. from 2014 to 2020, including Principal Data Scientist, Data Science Manager, Senior Data Scientist, and Data Scientist. During their time at Nuna Inc., they led teams and acted as a technical expert in sales meetings with CEO and Lead Investor. Sam also managed a computational environment to support a significant amount of booked revenue. Before joining Nuna Inc., Sam was a student at Stanford University from 2010 to 2015. Sam also has experience as a Software Engineering Intern at Google in 2013 and as a Quantitative Analyst Intern at The D. E. Shaw Group in 2008.

Sam Gross earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Statistics from Harvard University, where they attended from 2006 to 2010. Sam then pursued further education at Stanford University, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Statistics from 2010 to 2015.
