Kari Jänkälä

Chief Technology Officer at Grainsense

Kari Jänkälä has a diverse work experience in the field of research and development. Kari started their career as a Graduate Student Assistant at the University of Oulu in 2004 and worked in this role until 2008. Kari then joined the University of Kassel as a Postdoctoral Researcher from November 2008 to December 2009.

In 2010, Kari returned to the University of Oulu as a Postdoctoral Researcher and later became a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Academy of Finland from January 2011 to December 2013. Kari then transitioned to a University Researcher role at the University of Oulu starting from January 2014 and worked in this position until September 2018.

In 2012, Kari briefly worked as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Hamburg from May to December.

From October 2018 to June 2019, Kari served as a Senior Scientist at GrainSense. Following this, they took on the role of Research and Development Manager from June 2019 to February 2020. Currently, Kari holds the position of Chief Technology Officer at GrainSense starting from March 2020.

Kari Jänkälä pursued their education in physics at the University of Oulu. Kari obtained a Master of Science degree in Physics from 2000 to 2005. Later, they continued their studies and completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Physics from 2005 to 2008 at the same institution.
