Tonya Ward is an experienced elected official serving on the Learning Community Coordinating Council of Douglas and Sarpy Counties since January 2014. As an advocate for justice and the founder of Energy Rescue, Inc., Tonya focuses on assisting families that have had their utilities shut off by Nebraska utility companies. Additionally, Tonya serves as the President of the Grameen Rosenblatt Women's Association in Omaha, working under the principles of Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus to uplift women from poverty. Previously, Tonya held a partnership role at hOwGlobal North America. Educational background includes attending Bellevue East High School from 1982 to 1985.
