Brian Gootee

Brian Gootee is a seasoned geologist with extensive experience in both research and education. Currently serving as a Research Geologist at Arizona Geological Survey since September 2007, Brian conducts in-depth research on water resource basin analysis, hazard assessment, and paleoseismic analysis, among other projects. Concurrently, Brian holds the position of Adjunct Professor at Scottsdale Community College and has been instructing geologic field trips since August 2006. Additionally, Brian has been an Instructor for the Grand Canyon Field Institute since October 2004, teaching multi-day classes on natural history and geology. Brian's prior experience includes leading instructional programs for K-14 science teams at the Mars Space Facility (ASU) and teaching various geology courses at Mesa Community College. Brian earned a Master’s degree in Geology from Arizona State University and has a solid academic foundation in geology from The University of Texas at San Antonio.
