Andy Johnston

Andy Johnston serves as the Senior Vice President of Advocacy & Strategic Engagement at the Grand Rapids Chamber, a position held since September 2005. In this role, Andy is responsible for the strategic direction and execution of the Chamber’s communications, advocacy, public policy, events, programs, and initiatives. Prior to this, Andy was Vice President of Government Affairs, overseeing public policy efforts for over 2,300 members and managing the advocacy initiatives of the West Michigan Chamber Coalition. Previous experience includes roles such as Director of Legislative Affairs and Public Policy Coordinator for the Michigan Senate and an aide in the Office of Senator Jason Allen. Andy Johnston holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Michigan State University and has completed programs through Leadership Grand Rapids and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Institute for Organization Management.
