Michelle DeWitt is a seasoned chemistry professional with extensive experience in both academic and environmental settings. Currently serving as the Chemistry Lead Lab Supervisor at Grand Valley State University since September 2008, Michelle manages the chemistry department's stockroom, oversees budgetary tasks, hires and trains student employees, and collaborates with safety committees to ensure a safe laboratory environment. As a long-term volunteer with the American Chemical Society, Michelle has played a key role in organizing events such as “Chemistry at the Mall” during National Chemistry Week. Prior to these roles, Michelle worked as an organic chemist at Prein&Newhof from 1998 to 2008 and held various positions in analytical chemistry from 1990 to 1998 at WW Engineering and Science, Earth Tech, and TriMatrix Laboratory, focusing on environmental samples. Michelle holds a BS in Chemistry from Aquinas College and an AS in Industrial Chemical Technology from Ferris State University.
