DERRICK BARKSDALE

Derrick Barksdale has a strong work history in the field of security and risk management. DERRICK is currently serving as the Director of Security and Privacy at GrandPad since June 2020. Prior to that, they worked at Ally as the Director of Business Risk & Security Officer from February 2019 to June 2020. Before joining Ally, they held the position of Enterprise Identity Access Management-Authentication Services Manager at BB&T from July 2017 to February 2019. Derrick also has experience at Bank of America, where they served as the SVP, Sr. Technology Manager from June 2007 to July 2017. DERRICK began their career at Wachovia as an Information Security Engineer in June 2000 and remained in that role until June 2007.

Derrick Barksdale pursued a Doctor of Ministry degree in Redemptive Leadership from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary between 2014 and 2018. Prior to that, from 2008 to 2012, they earned a MACL degree in Christian Leadership/Divinity from the same institution. Additionally, Derrick holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Software Project Management from Winthrop University. DERRICK also obtained an associate's degree in Engineering Graphics from York Technical College. DERRICK completed their undergraduate studies at Winthrop University, earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Arts and Design with a focus on Graphic Design.

In terms of certifications, Derrick Barksdale received the CISM certification from ISACA in January 2017. DERRICK obtained the CompTIA Security+ certification from CompTIA in April 2006. Most recently, in March 2022, they acquired the HITRUST certification from HITRUST.
