Vice President of Program Management at Grant Engine

Madhav Sankunny has a diverse work experience in various roles and positions. Madhav is currently working as the Vice President of Program Management at Grant Engine since May 2023. Prior to this, they held the role of Program Manager at Grant Engine from January 2021 to May 2023. In 2021, Madhav also worked as a Principal at Mindshare Bioconsulting LLC.

Before their roles at Grant Engine and Mindshare Bioconsulting LLC, Madhav worked at the Cleveland Clinic for several years. Madhav served as an Innovation Fellow from October 2018 to December 2020, leading a research project on characterizing the novel functions of a tumor suppressor gene called KLLN and its role in cancer initiation and progression, particularly in breast, thyroid, and prostate cancers. Prior to that, Madhav worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Ambrose Monell Genomic Medicine Clinical Fellow at the Cleveland Clinic from December 2013 to March 2020.

Madhav's earlier experience includes working as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Pittsburgh from June 2013 to November 2013. Madhav also worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of Pittsburgh from August 2007 to April 2013, focusing on their doctoral dissertation on the role of the ATR-CHEK1 pathway in therapeutic resistance in carcinoma cells.

In addition, Madhav worked as a Junior Research Fellow at the National Center for Biological Sciences (NCBS, India) from January 2007 to June 2007. Madhav began their academic journey as a Graduate Student earning a Master of Science in Molecular Biology at the University of Madras from June 2004 to April 2006. Madhav'sthesis project at the University of Madras involved assessing the genotypic difference in relation to the ApaI polymorphism of the IGF2 gene in athletes and examining the correlation between different genotypes and body mass index (BMI) or waist to hip ratio (WHR).

Madhav Sankunny's education history is as follows:

Madhav began their education by earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Genetics and Biochemistry from Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College, which they completed from 2001 to 2004.

Madhav then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Madras, which they obtained from 2004 to 2006.

Following that, Madhav went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Human Genetics from the University of Pittsburgh, which they completed between 2007 and 2013.

In addition to their formal education, Madhav has obtained several certifications. Madhav obtained a certification in "Business Concepts for Life Scientists" from iBiology in April 2020. Madhav also completed multiple entrepreneurship courses from Coursera in April 2020, including "Entrepreneurship 1: Developing the Opportunity," "Entrepreneurship 2: Launching your Start-Up," "Entrepreneurship 3: Growth Strategies," and "Entrepreneurship 4: Financing and Profitability."

Furthermore, Madhav obtained a certification in "FROM BENCHTOP TO BEDSIDE - WHAT EVERY SCIENTIST NEEDS TO KNOW" from the Office of Enterprise Development, Health Sciences, University of Pittsburgh in April 2010. Madhav also earned a certification in "ACADEMIC ENTREPRENEURSHIP – THE BUSINESS OF INNOVATION COMMERCIALIZATION" from the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business, University of Pittsburgh in December 2009.

Lastly, Madhav obtained a certification in "Genetic Engineering" from Jain Institute of Vocational and Advanced Studies (JIVAS), Bangalore, India in April 2003.
