Maarten van Knippenberg

Maarten Van Knippenberg currently holds the position of Director at Grant Thornton Belgium since October 2023. In addition, Maarten serves as an Independent Member on both the Dispute Resolution Committee and the Appeals Committee for the European Payments Council from 2018. Maarten is a Board Member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) since May 2019 and also holds a Board Member role at DE TOUTER, Centrum voor Integrale Begeleiding van Gezinnen, Jongvolwassenen, Jongeren en Kinderen since January 2021. Previously, Maarten worked as an Internal Auditor at ZNA - Ziekenhuis Netwerk Antwerpen until October 2023 and as a Forensic Auditor for the Médiateur fédéral (federal Ombudsman) from June 2018 to January 2021. Earlier experience includes a Team Leader role in inspection at Vlaamse overheid from February 2013 to June 2018 and serving as Legal Director at Provincie Antwerpen from May 2009 to February 2013. Maarten holds multiple advanced degrees from the University of Antwerp, including a Master of Business Law, a Master in International Relations, and a Master of Laws (LLM).
