Campbell McIlroy has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Starting in 1995, they worked at The Gibson Group as a Post Production Supervisor and Script Manager. In this role, they oversaw the script writing process and managed post-production for television programs. From 1999 to 2002, Campbell worked as a Reporter at the National Business Review, where they specialized in commercial property coverage and won several journalism awards. Campbell then joined Fitch Ratings in 2002 as a Media Relations Director, responsible for media relations in the banking, insurance, sovereign, corporate, and structured finance sectors. Campbell joined Allen & Overy in 2005 and served as the Global Head of PR until 2016. In this position, they led external communications across 44 offices in 31 countries, managed a central PR team of five, and handled crisis communications, media launches, and brand positioning. Most recently, Campbell became the Director of Global Communications at Grant Thornton International Ltd in 2017, a position they currently hold.
Campbell McIlroy attended the University of Canterbury from 1992 to 1995, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. In 1999, they briefly studied at the Auckland University of Technology, completing a Graduate Diploma in Journalism.
