Stan Winborne

Stan Winborne, Ed.D., is a seasoned educator with extensive experience in various leadership roles within Granville County Public Schools since August 1996, currently serving as Superintendent. Winborne has held multiple positions including Associate Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction and Student Services, Assistant Superintendent of Operations and Human Resources, and Director of Testing & Accountability, among others. Notable accomplishments include the successful management of a $2.2 million budget, development of local curriculum documents, and oversight of over 16,000 state standardized assessments annually. Educational background includes an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from Tulane University. Winborne also has prior experience in the manufacturing sector and has contributed to educational assessment initiatives with organizations such as AdvancED and Educational Testing Services.
