Marko Spasenović has a diverse work experience in the field of physics and nanotechnology. Starting in 2011, they were a Postdoc at ICFO, where they researched the optical and plasmonic properties of graphene and optomechanics of dielectric nanoparticles. In 2012, they became the Owner and Administrator of Graphene Tracker, a website that reported on graphene commercialization and business news. In 2013, they became a Blogger and Social Media Manager at Graphenea. From 2014 to 2018, they were an Associate Research Professor and Assistant Professor at the Institute of Physics in Belgrade. In 2019, they were a Lecturer at the Doctoral School of Biophotonics at the University of Belgrade and a National Representative for Serbia for the Marie Curie Alumni Association Western Balkans Chapter. Marko was also an Associate Research Professor and Research Professor at the Center of Microelectronic Technologies – Institute of Chem, Technol. & Metallurgy, Univ. of Belgrade from 2018 to 2020, where they conducted experimental physics, supervised PhD students, wrote and managed project proposals, and researched topics such as graphene, gas sensing, nanophotonics, and nanotechnology. In 2017, they became a Co-Founder of Smart Acoustics, where they managed the startup, created business plans, and wrote project proposals. In 2020, they became a Scientific Advisor at Dirigent Acoustics and in 2022, they became the Chief Scientific and Executive Officer at Flexisense.
Marko Spasenović obtained a BEng in Engineering Physics from Carleton University between 2001 and 2004. Marko then went on to complete an MSc in Physics at the University of Toronto between 2004 and 2006.
