Adam Hutson

Adam Hutson has a diverse work experience in the software engineering field. Starting in 2010, they worked as a Senior Data Engineer at Expedia for four years before joining American National as a Staff Database Architect. Later, they were hired as a Data Architect at CloudPassage. In 2015, they joined DataScale, Inc., where they served as a Data Architect, designing and building an automated platform for managing hosted Apache Cassandra. Adam also provided technical support and maintained customer touchpoints. Adam then joined DataStax in 2016, initially as a Senior Software Engineer and later as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, where they designed and built Site Reliability tools. Adam provided in-person onboarding and mentoring. In 2018, they worked as a Solutions Architect at Confluent, providing expertise on Apache Kafka and helping customers overcome operational challenges. From 2019 to 2021, they served as a Senior Staff Data Engineer at FireEye, Inc., managing data architecture for the Helix Security Platform and creating working proof-of-concepts. Following that, they worked as a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Narvar from 2021 to 2022. Most recently, Adam joined Slack in 2022 as a Senior Staff Software Engineer, where they led data infrastructure projects. In 2023, they joined Graphite Health as a Principal Software Engineer.

Adam Hutson attended Missouri State University from 1997 to 2002, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems. In addition to their degree, they also hold certifications as a Certified Cassandra 1.1 Developer from DataStax and as an MCTS in SQL Server 2008 Database Development from Microsoft, obtained in 2013 and 2010 respectively.
