Mike Kannan

Director of IT Assurance and Security Research at GraVoc

Mike Kannan has worked in various roles within the IT and security field. Mike began their career in 2007 as an intern for InfoSec at First Marblehead Corporation. In 2008, they worked as an Assistant Control Systems Engineer at Northstar Industries. From 2011 to 2013, they were an Associate Security Consultant at GraVoc. Mike then moved up to the role of Senior Information Security Consultant at GraVoc, where they performed assessments and forensic investigations to enhance organizational security. Finally, in 2019, they became the Director of IT Assurance and Security Research at GraVoc.

Mike Kannan completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Network and Information Systems at the Wentworth Institute of Technology from 2005 to 2009. Mike then pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Information Assurance at Brandeis University from 2009 to 2011. In terms of additional certifications, Mike obtained the following: SecurityTube Wi-Fi Security Expert (SWSE) from SecurityTube in February 2013, SecurityTube Metasploit Framework Expert (SMFE) from SecurityTube in May 2013, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) from EC-Council in June 2012, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in August 2011, Cisco Certified Network Associate Security (CCNA Security) from Cisco in February 2016, SecurityTube GNU Debugger Expert (SGDE) from SecurityTube Training in May 2016, and Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) from Offensive Security in June 2021. Additionally, Mike participated in online webinars through various institutions such as SecurityTube/PentesterAcademy and other unidentified online sources, although no specific degrees or fields of study were provided for these activities.
