Software Engineer at Grayscale

Kavin Phan has a diverse and extensive work experience. Kavin is currently working as a Software Engineer at Grayscale since August 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Software Engineer Co-op at Georgia Tech Research Institute from August 2019 to August 2021, where they developed a full-stack web app for COVID-19 testing and maintained back-end systems for an in-flight entertainment system. In 2021, they interned as a Software Engineer at Tesla from January to June. Kavin also worked as a Full-stack Developer in an undisclosed company from August to December 2020. Additionally, they interned as a Software Engineer at NCR Corporation from June to August 2020, where they integrated Google's Instant App feature into a restaurant ordering app and developed a proof of concept for augmented reality (AR).

Prior to their corporate experience, Kavin Phan was the Lead Engineer at EcoDrop from September 2018 to September 2019, where they developed a cloud-enabled reverse vending machine using Python and OpenCV library. Kavin also served as an instructor at iD Tech Camps in May to July 2019 and as a Team Lead at Digital Learners to Leaders from September 2018 to April 2019, where they led a team in developing a technological solution for incentivizing recycling using reverse vending machines and local restaurant coupons.

Kavin Phan first pursued a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at Georgia State University starting in 2018. After completing the program or at some undetermined point during their time there, Kavin decided to further their education. Consequently, they enrolled in the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2020, where they are currently working towards another Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, which they are expected to complete in 2024.
