Marc Tortora has a diverse work experience in the insurance and legal industry. Marc started their career as an Associate Attorney at Wilson Elser in 2001, where they litigated various commercial disputes and handled cases involving premises liability, auto accidents, property damage, and insurance law. Marc worked at Wilson Elser until 2008.
From 2008 to 2016, Marc worked at The Hartford as a Claims Counsel. There, they managed complex claims related to directors and officers (D&O) liability, errors and omissions (E&O), employment practices liability (EPL), and other insurance policies. Marc dealt with cases involving public and private companies, financial institutions, private equity, and had experience in securities class actions, bankruptcies, mergers and acquisitions, antitrust litigation, and investigations by regulatory agencies.
From 2016 to 2018, Marc served as a Senior Counsel at Ambridge Partners LLC. In this role, they managed coverage for global claims arising under various insurance policies, including Reps and Warranties, Warranty & Indemnity, Tax Liability, Legal Contingency, and Complex Management Liability. Marc also participated in reviewing transaction agreements, due diligence, and negotiating legal documents and contracts.
Currently, Marc is working at Great American Insurance Group. Marc began as a Divisional Assistant Vice President in the Mergers & Acquisitions Liability department in February 2018. Marc was promoted to Divisional Vice President in November 2019, where they continue to work in the same field.

Marc Tortora earned a JD degree from Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, where they studied from 1997 to 2000. Prior to that, they obtained their BA degree in Political Science with a minor in Accounting from Providence College between 1993 and 1997. Marc completed their high school education at Chaminade High School from 1989 to 1993. Marc has also obtained additional certifications, including a New York State Bar License from the New York State Bar Association in 2001 and a Property & Casualty Adjuster License from various states, with their home state being Connecticut.
